Camping Supplies (Camping in scotland)
Mother Nature sure has a way of greeting us. There’s nothing quite like stepping out of suburbia or the city smog and into the great outdoors. That crisp, clean air and peaceful silence always set my mind at ease. Suddenly there’s nothing but birds and crickets chirping around me. Those tiresome sounds of car engines and police sirens are far behind. I could almost live in the woods, in a tent and a few camping supplies. Unfortunately my wife would not be so keen on the idea. She is not exactly an outdoor kind of girl. I guess you’d call her a city slicker. Nevertheless, I convince her to hit the hills with me once a year for a weekend camping trip. I think she secretly enjoys it. You’ve got to give it up for the outdoor life. Just ponder for a moment, the cleaning involved. There truly isn’t any. Your camping supplies consist of a tent, a few sleeping bags, the cloths you’re wearing, possibly a spare set, and the food you bring. So what is there really to clean? You’re not likely going to be cleaning yourself out in the middle of the woods, unless you’re a cat that is. If anything, you’ll be quickly scrubbing off a few camping dishes that you used to cook beans over the fire. Wow, that really does sound like THE life. Anyway, what about those mandatory camping supplies. There are a few items that every camper should have before venturing off into the woods. Number one; bring cloths that suit the atmosphere. Obviously too many are better than not enough. You don’t want to freeze out there. Number two; matches and/or a lighter are essential. Clearly you’ll be lighting a fire out there, so you’d better bring along some fire starters. Number three; always keep a flashlight on your person. Surefire makes the best ones available in my opinion. I never leave home without it. And finally, you should never go camping without a knife. A fine piece of cutlery is the most essential tool on this planet. Remember that and you should do fine. R.E.I. is a great place to begin. This outdoor superstore offers some of the finest camping supplies on the market today. If you can’t check them out in person, try their online store and browse as you please.
Camping In Alaska (Camping in west virginia)
Camping in Alaska can be quite an adventure, but it is not something to be taken lightly. After all, most of Alaska is a vast, dangerous, frozen wasteland. Even the coastal areas can have some of the most unpredictable weather in the country. I have a cousin who wanted to go camping in Alaska by himself, but I managed to talk him out of it. I told him that he needed to go with a tour group, and he finally admitted that I was right. He, in turn, convinced me to come along with them. At first, I thought going to campgrounds in Alaska was a bad idea. It may have been a bad idea, but I’m glad that I did it. It was one of the most exciting things that I’ve ever done! Our trip was based out of Anchorage Alaska, but we were only there for a few days. We got our camping equipment in Anchorage and then set off for more remote reaches of the Coast. Because it was our first time camping in Alaska, we agreed to stay in the coastal areas. It was the summer, after all, and the Alaskan coast can be downright mild and pleasant. Although we did not see a lot of darkness, we had brought sleeping shades so we were okay. This is one of the things that I can’t recommend enough if you’re going to go camping in Alaska. Pay attention to what time of year it is. If you have not gone before, make sure that you are going camping in Alaska during the six months of light, and bring sleeping shades. Otherwise, you will not be able to sleep the whole time! One of the great things about camping in Alaska is how remote it is. It only takes a days hike, and you are far enough from the cities to receive almost no light pollution. It is amazing how big and beautiful the skies are. Even in the middle of the summer, you can see Northern lights sometimes. This is one of the great thrills of camping in Alaska, but it is by no means the only one. You can see all kinds of native wildlife. There are deer, elk, moose, as well as a wide variety of birds. There are tall trees and low scrub. The best thing about camping in Alaska, however, is the thrill of being in one of the last unspoiled wilderness refuges on earth. Nothing can compare to that!
camping grills (Florida keys camping)
There are many great camping grills on the market, and before you choose, you should think about a few things. You don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that you will only use once a year when you are going camping, but at the same time, you don’t want to buy something that is not reliable so that you end up with no way to cook your food. In some cases, you may not even need a grill at all, but you do have to take a few things with you. The more expensive camping grills are great if you do a lot of camping and you think you may even use it at home once in a while. Some are gas, and they are made to be portable for those who may take a long hike to get where they are going to camp. Some are a bit larger, but nothing like the ones you would by for your home. Instead, they are small enough to carry a short distance, but will sit nicely on the top of a picnic table and won’t blow away with a strong breeze. Some like to get charcoal camping grills when they go, and that is a great idea if you don’t mind the wait for them to heat up, and you don’t think you will use it very often. They make a special size just for camping, and they are often small enough to be easily transported in the back of a truck or car. They are a bit messy, but they are the best value when you don’t want to spend a lot on something that you won’t be using again any time soon, or may even want to toss once your trip is over. Sometimes you can find a great way to cook with wood, and you won’t need to have camping grills with you. Some have fire pits that allow you to have a safe fire, and you can put the grill screen over the fire and cook. You can find great ones that are meant for outdoor cooking over open flame. You don’t want to get something not made for that purpose because they might have strange chemicals on them that will burn off, or they may break too easily. No matter what type of camping grills you choose, make sure you don’t forget the cooking utensils, and getting sturdy ones for camping, in this case, is also a great idea.
Camping guide – Camping Grills
Not much compares to a weekend in the woods. Yeah, you heard me right. Don’t even try to act like you hate it. With all the amazing camping supplies available these days, anyone can truly enjoy a bout with Mother Nature. It’s all about being prepared. Bust out a few tents, the right clothing, plenty of food and water, some comfy sleeping bags, camping grills, a few flashlights, and you’re set. There’s no way you won’t have a blast, as long as you’re with the right people. You see, camping is all about fun and relaxation. You finally get that break from the hustle and bustle of real life. Drop the chaotic office routine and stressful deadlines. It’s time for a weekend in the wilderness. If you really put some thought into it, what are your camping essentials? I figure that most folks have a few things that they can’t do without. My knife and Surefire flashlight are imperative in my book. You won’t catch me camping without them. For my wife, it’s one of those manual showers. You’ve probably seen them before, if you’ve never used one. They basically drape over a tree branch and shower you with water from a plastic pouch. This way you’re able to wash off even in the most rural of settings. Just make sure you bring along a bar of soap. Then there are new-age camping grills. Folks tend to go gaga over such devices. I’m talking miniature gas grills to cook anything you please. Now, I can’t say that I’ve ever taken advantage of one of these contemporary camping utilities. When I grew up, my father always used a basic grill that sat over the fire’s flames. This way your actual fire was cooking your food for you. It made perfect sense to us. Besides I love the taste of that flame-grilled grub. It beats the modern camping grills if you ask me. When it comes to camping grills and cooking food out in the bush, let’s not forget about the old-fashioned tinfoil method. You take your slab of meat and chopped vegetables, and wrap them well in tinfoil. Then place your foiled food into the red-hot bed of coals. Let it cook for a good thirty minutes, then check it out. This makes for an excellent meal if you’re lacking camping grills. I love the old alternatives!
Camping de france – Camping Food
You’ve got to feel sorry for the folks who’ve never been camping before in their lives. My own wife is one of these individuals. I was utterly shocked to find out. She’s the type that lists out endless reasons why she doesn’t want to go camping. Yeah, you know the kind. The tent is too small, the ground is too hard, there are bugs everywhere, you can’t take a shower in the middle of the woods, bla bla bla. The list will go on forever if you allow her to continue. But instead of doing that, I address the finer aspects of wilderness life. There’s the fresh clean air, the moon and stars above, the peace and quiet, the solitude and of course the tasty camping food. Need I even say more? One of my favorite parts of camping out as a kid was the food. Check this out; hotdogs and brats roasted over a campfire, soft drinks in a cooler, endless beef jerky, and fresh smores for dessert. Now that’s what I call primo camping food. Who could ever get enough of these good eats? My father even showed us a way to take it to the next level. First you build a good hot campfire. Wait until some of the wood burns down and you have a good red-hot bed of coals to work with. Then you prepare the meal. Dice up potatoes, carrots, onions, and steak. Place a heap of it, mixed together, inside a fairly large piece of aluminum foil. Wrap it up really well and make certain there are no holes. Now place that wrapped meal into the bed of coals. You’ll want to use a set of tongs to do this, and especially to take it out. Let it cook for a good thirty minutes and then check its progress. If it’s not quite done to your liking, stick it back for as long as you see fit. This makes for one outstanding meal, and some of the best camping food I’ve ever tasted. Don’t knock Mother Nature until you’ve relaxed a bit in her vast serenity. The great outdoors is the ideal place to get away from it all, because you really can get away from it all. Take a camping trip with your family this summer, and really learn more about one another. Without the distractions of TVs, PCs, cell phones and IPods. Oh, and be sure to take along plenty of great camping food. That’s the best part!
